Chicago rapper Lil Durk arrested in Florida on murder-for-hire charges

Sean "Diddy" Combs' legacy has faced serious challenges due to a wave of sexual assault lawsuits and allegations suggesting he used his wealth and influence to orchestrate a “sex-trafficking venture.”

The founder of Bad Boy Entertainment was arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, following lawsuits from several individuals, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and producer Lil Rod.

Lil Rod accused Combs of "engaging in serious illegal activity" involving sex trafficking and sexual assault.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Chicago rapper Lil Durk was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida on Thursday night.

According to jail records, the 32-year-old, born Durk Banks, was booked into the Broward County Jail on pending charges of murder-for-hire.

On the same day, five members of Banks' hip-hop group, Only the Family (OTF), were indicted on federal charges in Los Angeles related to a plot to kill rapper Quando Rondo. The indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, charged Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.

Nearly three years after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on the set of "Rust," Alec Baldwin went to trial for his alleged role in the tragedy. On July 12, 2024, during the third day of the trial, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer permanently dismissed the case, siding with Baldwin's lawyers. They argued that sheriffs and state prosecutors had "concealed from Baldwin" evidence regarding the source of the bullet that killed Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
